This class develops skills required to be successful in the administration, implementation, and auditing of ACF2. It is an in-depth examination of the following topics and components.
- ACF2 general concepts of security, including proper terminology, sensitive data, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- The three ACF2 control databases, the records on each database, and the "KEY" to each record.
- The ACF2 commands, sub-commands, console commands, and panels that create and maintain the records on all ACF2 databases.
- The ACF2 validation process and how "security by default" protection is performed.
- The LogonID (LID) record and the major fields within the record.
- The Field Definition Record (FDR).
- The user identification string (UID) and how it is used to represent "groups" of users.
- The rules that control access to datasets and other z/OS resources.
- The "basic" global system options (GSO) that all administrators should know about.
- The other records on the infostorage database and when they should be used, including: scope, shift, profile, and cross-reference records.
- The synergistic value of how the ACF2 components function collectively.
- ACF2 reports and the JCL used to generate them that identify violations and other important activities.
- Navigation through the ACF2 manuals and other documentation.
